Having the team relatively close by means that they can be on-site at a moment’s notice every time their assistance is needed. This also means that your downtime will be limited.

Generally a good professional MPS organization is one in which they choose to specialize in only a few things, such as managed services, professional services, security, and cloud services. Too many specializations may mean that the organization isn’t an expert at anything. That said, you should make sure that their skillsets will align with your objectives.

A service-level agreement will contain many things. It should also specify what will happen in times of resolutions. The fact of the matter is that nobody will want to be on hold for IT support.

A financial track record and experience working in the field is equally important.

Find out what the plan is the MSP will perform to take over support of your IT. How long will it take? How will your business be impacted?

While there can be similarities in pricing structures among businesses, there are enough points on which businesses can differ to make this question worthwhile. It’s not just a dollars-and-cents issue, but rather a matter of how the billing takes place. Whether it’s flat-fee, custom, or hourly, knowing how the company bills for its services can mean the difference between good service and a waste of money.

Most MSPs offer both one-year and three-year terms. A one-year term can be useful in “testing out” an MSP but — bear in mind — you will most likely pay a higher price for that contract, and changing providers is not an easy process. Adivi offers a month-to-month. Our philosophy is if we are not providing a great service, the client has a right to cancel the service.

There will be times when you feel you are not getting the service you deserve. There should be clear steps you can take to rectify the situation.
